Master-classes with students of the School of International Studies, Zhejiang University (China)

This August the museum again hosts  a group of students and teachers from the School of International Studies,  Zhejiang University (China) for a summer internship.  As it was last year, we  continue to get acquainted with Chinese culture and traditions and invite you all to the masterclasses that will be conducted by the students:

7 August 11:00
Master class on Chinese calligraphy and paper carving. We will talk about Chinese language and writing, its distinctive features. We will try to write our name and ‘Happiness’ (FU) in Chinese on a bookmark and make 12 animals (Sheng Xiao) out of paper. For adults and children 7+. Tickets are purchased via the museum website.

8 August 11:00.
Masterclass on painting a mask in the style of Beijing opera and painting a fan. We will talk about Beijing opera, history and plots, the symbolism of make-up in opera, and learn the technique of fan painting. For adults and children 7+. Tickets are purchased per visitor on the museum’s website.

14 August 11:00.
Masterclass on Chinese knots. We will learn about Chinese traditions and symbolism of knots. For adults and children 7+. Tickets are purchased for each visitor on the museum’s website.

15 August 11:00
Master class on Chinese chess and Wushu gymnastics.  We will learn about leisure time in China and  play Chinese chess. For adults and children 7+. Tickets are purchased per visitor on the museum’s website.

The events will take place at the Children’s Art Centre of the V.D. Polenov Museum-Reserve, village Strakhovo, Shkolnaya st, 10.
