Exhibition “Studies of the Past Years”

The exhibition “Studies of the Past Years” by Valery Makarov will be held at the  City of Masters Exhibition Hall on 6.09.2023–8.10.2023
Valery Makarov was born in Stalingrad, in 1956.  In his youth  he studied in  G.L. Rudnev Arts Studio, the famous local artist and educator . In 1980 he graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the K.A. Savitsky Penza Art School.

In the 1980s Valery Makarov tried his luck in monumental and portrait painting. By the early 90’s the artist was determined with his preferences and turned to the landscape genre. Since that time he participated on a regular base in many all-Russian and regional exhibitions, and in 1996 he was accepted into the Union of Artists of Russia. Today he has the portfolio of  two dozen personal exhibitions in Minsk, Moscow, Sergiev Posad, Volgograd, Volzhsky and other cities. His works are in Russian and foreign museums as well as in private collections.
Valery Makarov is a genuine artist, who is able to speak about the essence of existence within the landscape genre. The openness and candour of his view of nature do not reduce the depth and significance of the perception of the surroundings in his work.
