Exhibition “Ceramission is Possible”

May 8 to June 30, 2024

Dear Friends,

We’re thrilled to invite you to the captivating exhibition, “Ceramission is Possible,” taking place from May 8 to June 30, 2024, on the second floor of the exhibition hall “City of Masters”. This event will showcase the remarkable ceramic creations of Alexander Sysoev and Elena Ilyushonok.

Alexander Sysoev, born in 1961, embarked on his ceramic journey in 1993, delving deeply into the realm of ceramics with a penchant for the Ethno-style. His passion for experiments with various ceramic techniques is evident in his work, spanning from reduction firing ceramics to sculptural pieces and tile making.

Elena Ilyushonok, born in 1968, in a quiet town in the eastern part of the Kaliningrad region, discovered her love for ceramics during her study at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Smolensk Pedagogical Institute.

The ceramics featured in this exhibition are the result of their collaborative creative efforts. With over thirty years of experience in ceramics, more than two decades have been spent in collaboration, blending their unique perspectives and expertise. Their artistic journey has been enriched by an exploration of Slavic traditional ceramics alongside a deep fascination with cultural traditions from around the world.

Tickets for this extraordinary exhibition are available both onsite and on the museum’s website. Join us as we celebrate the artistry and craftsmanship of Alexander and Elena in “Ceramission is Possible.”
