Paintings by Maria Yakunchikova.

Dear visitors!

We are pleased to present a selection of works from our museum collection that are typically held in storage rather than featured in our permanent exhibition.

Currently on display in the exhibition hall of “Abbey” are three paintings by Maria Vasilievna Yakunchikova, available from December 1, 2023, to January 11, 2024.

Maria Vasilyevna Yakunchikova was a prominent Russian artist who resided in Paris, returning to Russia during the summers. She shared a passion for national-romanticism with the Abramtsevo Circle, led by Savva Mamontov. Her artistic endeavors were diverse and prolific, spanning arts and crafts such as wooden toy making, embroidery, tapestry, and collages. M.V. Yakunchikova-Weber emerged as a trailblazer of Symbolism and Art Nouveau within Russian art.

Tickets are available at the ticket office or on the museum’s website.
