Paintings by Maria Yakunchikova.

Dear visitors!

We continue to display the work from the museum collection, which are usually kept in our museum’s storage, not in the permanent exposition.

Today one can see three paintings, created  by Maria Vasilievna Yakunchikova at the exhibition hall of “Abbey”.

Maria Vasilyevna Yakunchikova was a Russian artist. She lived in Paris, coming to Russia for the summer. She shared national-romantic hobbies of the Abramtsevo Circle, headed by  Savva Mamontov. She worked a lot and successfully, primarily in the arts and crafts, she was engaged in making wooden toys, embroidery, tapestry, collages. M.V. Yakunchikova-Weber became one of the pioneers of Symbolism and Art Nouveau in the Russian art.
